The International Conference on X-ray and Neutron Science Machine Learning was successfully held from April 8th to 10th, 2024, at the FRM II of the Technical University of Munich in Germany. This conference followed up the X-ray and Neutron Scattering Machine Learning Conference held in April 2023 at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The conference covered machine learning methods in the fields of synchrotron light sources and spallation neutron sources, focusing on hot topics, frontiers, and challenges in automated experimental control, experimental data analysis, dataset construction, scientific computing, and machine learning. It effectively facilitated academic exchanges among international peers and contributed to the development of the field.

Li Chun, a member of the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) beamline software team at the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the conference and delivered an oral presentation titled "Machine Learning Methods for Automated Sample Detection and Intelligent Recognition" (20 minutes), responding to questions from the audience. The report introduced the development progress of the large-scale scientific software framework Mamba, the research progress of the AI for Science research group, and the development progress of software tools for automated sample detection and intelligent recognition, actively seeking cooperation with international peers, which attracted widespread interest and attention from the conference experts.
